Obituary of Roseann Theresa Davis

Roseann was born on January 28, 1931 to the late Donatus and Lucinda (Gildner) Zettel in West Branch, Michigan.  She graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in 1949. Roseann was passionate about learning and she attended Marywood Academy, Aquinas College and the Culinary Institute in Missouri. She taught at Marywood Academy and Lake Leelanau.  After working in the food service business at Nazareth College, she moved back to West Branch where she worked for The West Branch Rose City Schools teaching home economics and also served as the Food Service Director. After retiring she volunteered at St. Joseph School and St. Vincent DePaul for many years.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, CCW, was a Eucharistic Minister, reader and member of the pastoral council for many years.  She enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning, baking to share with family and friends.  She was an active member of the CCW and St. Vincent DePaul. 

Roseann is survived by brothers: Cecil (Betts) Zettel, Kenneth (Kathy) Zettel, Wayne (Mary) Zettel, Jerome Zettel sister Yvonne (Edwin/Ozzie) Ostrander and sister-in-law Loretta Zettel.  She is also survived by step children Carol (Vern) Cavitch and Bill Davis as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years Lomer Davis, sister Genevieve (Alex) Kruch, brothers Eugene Zettel and Alfred Zettel, sisters-in-law, Arlene, Mildred, & Anita Zettel and step daughter-in-law Sharron Davis and several cousins, nieces, nephews & grandchildren.

Celebration of life will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church, West Branch with Father Emmanuel officiating on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery West Branch at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Roseann Davis Scholarship Fund.  To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com  Arrangements made with the Cremation Society of Mid Michigan.
