Obituary of Dixie Armbruster

Please share a memory of Dixie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dixie A. Armbruster, age 83, of Bay City Michigan passed away December 10, 2023.  She was born in Iaeger, West Virginia on August 5, 1940 to the late Frank C. and Myrtle (Scott) Bussey. While living in Florida, Dixie met, and married Ted Armbruster in 1990.  Together they enjoyed life, travelling and entertaining, and eventually moved to Michigan in 2013.

Dixie loved life.  She was active in her church in Bradenton Florida, sang in the choir, loved going to plays, attending the symphony, and belonged to the Garden Club.   Dixie worked in the banking industry for a number of years, but most recently, selling real estate in Florida.

She is survived by her brother, Frank “Pete” and Jackie Bussey; a niece, Terri (Frank) Snider; and special cousins, Col. Hal (Lee) Johnson and Sheila Proffit, all of Virginia.  Also surviving are her step-sons, T.F. Armbruster and David (Toni) Armbruster; step-daughter, Jodi (Greg) Johnson; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Ruth Bolzman and family.  She was predeceased by her husband Theodore “Ted” Armbruster in September 2018.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Home Churched Committee and the school children of Faith Lutheran Church and School for keeping Dixie in their thoughts and prayers, and for the cards and special mementos they sent her.  Also, thanks to Glenn Grage for his many years of visiting and ministry to Dixie.  The family would also like to recognize the gentle caring and attention given to Dixie by the staff of the Carriage House of Bay City and McLaren Hospice.  Until we meet again with our loving Lord Jesus.

An internment and committal service is being planned for the spring of 2024.   To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com
