Obituary of David Durrell Morford
We gather with fond memories and profound gratitude for the life of David Durrell Morford, who passed away peacefully on December 15, 2023, at the age of 85. David was a beloved husband to Margaret Helen Morford, a devoted father, a cherished grandfather, and a dear friend to many. Born on December 25, 1937, in Saginaw, Michigan, David's life was one of vibrant engagement with the world around him, marked by a deep commitment to his family and community.
A lifelong resident of Saginaw, David enriched the lives of those around him with his boundless energy, his sense of humor, and his profound sense of duty. From his early years at Feurbringer Elementary to his service in the United States Navy, and later through his dedicated work in various roles in youth sports and Scouting, David embodied a spirit of generosity and resilience.
David leaves behind his beloved wife of many years, Margaret Morford. He was a loving father, deeply cherished by his children and their spouses: Christina Salinas of Austin, TX; Cindra Bowman of Saginaw, MI; Randon Morford and his wife Linda of Saratoga Springs, UT; Ryan Morford and his wife Lene of St. George, UT; and Tara Rogers and her husband Ryan of Saginaw, MI. David was also a proud and doting grandfather to 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
David's memorial service will be held on June 7, 2024, at 5:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 1415 N Center Rd, Saginaw, MI 48638. The service will reflect David's deep faith and commitment to his church, where he was a respected member. The service will be followed by a gathering in the church hall, where friends and family are invited to share their memories and stories of David.
