Obituary of Cindy Lee Hartley

Cindy Lee Hartley, age 63, passed away peacefully December 19, 2023, after bravely enduring a challenging six-month battle against life threatening illness. She was born March 20, 1960 in Fairbanks, Alaska to William & Ruth Hartley. Cindy had a deep love for nature and enjoyed immersing herself in the beauty of the natural world, particularly near the ocean. Her hands were rarely still. For many years Cindy worked as a Fire Inspector for the state of Michigan. It suited her servant heart and fierce personality well. 

While the glory of the great outdoors provided Cindy with solace and joy, nothing compared to the immeasurable joy her grandchildren brought into her life. They were her most cherished treasures, the very essence of her world. Their laughter, innocence, and boundless love were the constant sources of happiness in her life. She loved showering them with affection, nurturing their growth, and above all, creating lasting memories together. Her love for her grandchildren was a testament to her nurturing nature, treasured by all who knew her well.

Cindy’s courage and love for her family shined bright for those that walked beside her, even in the midst of such hardship. Her boundless compassion touched countless lives through simple acts of kindness and genuine connections. Her legacy of kindness and selflessness will guide us to emulate her caring nature. Cindy will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched with her radiant spirit.

Cindy is survived by two daughters, Mandy Redburn & partner Chris Hartley and Rachel (Chris) Engelhardt; three sisters, Carrie Hartley, Geraldine Hartley & partner Ronald Spindler, and Brenda (Kenneth) Hughes four grandchildren, Kayli Redburn, Destiny, Alivia, & Camden Engelhardt; along with many more loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, and close family friends.
