Annemarie H. Simmons, of Frankenmuth, MI, formerly of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away on January 6, 2024 at the age of 90 years. She was born on November 2, 1933 to the late Herbert K. and Helena M. Padel (Garke) in Guben, Germany. She attended St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Richville and St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, Frankenmuth in recent years, but was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in South Daytona, Florida. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, gardening, attending exercise classes and Bible studies. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Timothy K. and Carol M. Eyster of Vassar, and their children, Nicholas A. Eyster, Todd and Kathryn Burrows (Eyster) and their children, and Bryan T. Eyster. She is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John R. and Constance Simmons of St. Louis, Missouri, and their children, Joshua and Gabrielle Rystedt (Simmons) and their children, Tyler and Rachel Simmons and their children, Noah Simmons, and Ben and Michelle Simmons. In addition, she is survived by grandchildren Kris and Tori Simmons and Sean Simmons and her younger sisters in Germany, Ingeborg and Christine and their extended families. In Florida, she is survived by her sister-in-law, Sylvia Dowling (Simmons) and her extended family. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard J. Simmons (2017) and her son, Karl H. Simmons (2022). A Celebration of Life service will take place at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in South Daytona, Florida, with Pastor Dave Schillinger officiating at a later date.
