Obituary of MaryAnn Ferguson

Please share a memory of MaryAnn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

MaryAnn (Sergi) Ferguson of Tawas, Michigan passed away on January 15, 2024, at the age of 84 years. She was born on January 15, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Frank and Columba Sergi.

MaryAnn’s passions in life were her family, friends, and baking.  She could light up a room when she walked in. Everyone wanted to be around her as she had an amazing way of making people feel special. MaryAnn was known as the peacemaker to many throughout her life. Her heart was as big as a mountain, yet soft as a cloud.  She was always there for her family and friends with food on the table and a gallon of wine (Carlo Rossi Paisano), in their time of need. Through her years the amount of time she spent cooking for others led to the running joke of “Mary’s Kitchen” was always open, no matter what time, day or night. MaryAnn was also most definitely a trend setter. Her different colored wigs weekly, her daily makeup and jewelry that looked like she came out of a fashion magazine, and her leopard print skirts, made her truly a diva.

She is survived by her daughter, Michele (Ferguson) Palmer; her granddaughter, Monique (Palmer) Lowe; her grandsons, Caleb Ferguson, Johnny Palmer, and Billy Palmer; four great-grandchildren; her sister, Delores (Sergi) Pardue; her niece, Christine (Pardue) Doyle; nephew, Jeff Pardue; six great-nieces; and one great-nephew. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her twin flame, William Ferguson; and her first born daughter, Gina Marie Ferguson.

In lieu of flowers, those considering an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Wishes of the Family.  Memorial contributions may be sent directly to the family or to the Cremation Society of Mid Michigan, 700 N.
