Obituary of Virgil Owen Vandemark

Virgil “Virg” Owen Vandemark, age 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on January 24, 2024.   He was born in Deford, Michigan on April 13, 1932 to the late Emery and Vera Pearl (Mulholland) Vandemark.  On May 31, 1952 he married the love of his life, the former Betty Curry.   They enjoyed 71 years of marriage and raised four children.   During the course of his life, he was a longtime business owner.   He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, going to casinos, playing cards (especially Euchre), and was a longtime member of The Caro Moose Lodge.  

Virg is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Terry (Mary); son, Randy (Paula); daughter, Lisa (Joe) Durham; one sister, Betty (Max) Esckelson; and a sister-in-law Connie Vandemark.   Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one son, Daniel; brother, Emery Jr. (Mary Ann), and Gerald; sister, Freda (George) McMullen; and twin sister, Virginia (Sam) Mills.
