Obituary of Denise Michelle Boyke

Denise M. Boyke passed away on February 14, 2024 at the age of 54. She was born on July 30, 1969 to Dennis Hutton Sr. and Janet (Staib) Counts. She enjoyed time with her family and friends, and was active with the VA Medical Center in Saginaw.  She was an RN at the Aleda Lutz VA Medical Center for almost 23 years, and she loved taking care of the Veterans.

She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Christopher M. Boyke; her children, Carissa (Reinshuttle) Rabish of Freeland, Nathan Reinshuttle and Rayce Reinshuttle of Bay City; her step-children, Anthony Boyke of Cadillac MI and Mikaila (Boyke) Bluew of Saginaw; father, Dennis Hutton Sr. of Saginaw; mother, Janet Counts of Okeechobee, FL; brother, Dennis Hutton Jr.; her best buddy, our dachshund, Bentley; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and step-siblings. She was predeceased by her grandparents and great-grandparents on both sides; and her cousin, Stephanie Cummings.

No services are planned as a “living wake” for her was held on January 6, 2024.  About 250 people were in attendance, and we thank everyone for showing their love by coming to her living wake. Denise was a member of the Cremation Society of Mid-Michigan and cremation has taken place.

Her family and friends will love and miss her, because she was a great person inside and out. As her husband, I am so glad that I got to share almost 20 years of her life with her.
