Obituary of Charles Mester

Charles “Chuck” Mester, age 94, of Coleman, MI passed away peacefully with family by his side on February 29, 2024, at Schnepp’s Senior Care and Rehab Center.
Chuck was born on January 3, 1930, to the late Samuel and Julia Mester. He graduated from Coleman High School in 1949 and married the late Anna Sprenger on September 30, 1950. Chuck was a devoted husband to the love of his life Anna and their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchild. Chuck retired from Lobdell Emery in Alma, MI. Prior to Anna’s passing, they shared their creativity in making beautiful baskets and other woven treasures. After Anna’s passing, he enjoyed countless hours on his tractor tending to his enormous garden, which included giant pumpkins, sharing the fruits of his labor with family, friends, and even the wildlife.
Chuck is survived by his children, Thomas (Ellen) Mester, Julia (Richard) Graham, and Timothy (Betty) Mester; grandchildren, Jason, Kaci (Steve), Amy, Nathan (Valarie), Spencer, and Julianna (Alex); great-grandchildren, Paige (Colton), Kolin, Sydnee, Stella, Rya, Gwen, and Koa; great-great-granddaughter, Hazel; as well as his brother, Del. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Anna; daughter, Cindy Jo; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruth and Elmer; brothers, Sam, Frank, John, Ted, Alex, Art, and Ed; and sisters, Barb, Betty, and Mary.
