Earl Lutzke Jr., age 79, passed away of natural causes, March 30, 2024 at The Carriage House in Bay City, Michigan. He was born in Orlando, Florida to Louise Strickland and Earl Lutzke Sr. on November 16, 1944.


After graduating high school, he joined the Army and was stationed in Germany during the cold war. He achieved the rank of Specialist 4 while he served as an APC driver and Field Communication Lineman. He also received his sharpshooter qualification on the M-14 service rifle. When he returned home, he began his career at General Motors in Saginaw, Michigan, working there for 37 years, and learning various skilled trades in the process. In his spare time Earl enjoyed skiing and hunting, and spending time with his many friends.

He is survived by his sons, Erich and Austin (Angela); and his grandson, Atli.

Military honors will be held at 2 pm, June 20, 2024, at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI 48442.  Additionally, a Memorial Service and luncheon for friends and family will be held from 12 pm – 3 pm, June 22, 2024, at the Knights of Columbus Council # 414, 225 S.
