Obituary of Alda Sheila Libbey

Alda Libbey, age 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 4, 2024, at Birch Run Fields Assisted Living , in Birch Run.  Alda Sheila Schnell was born September 2, 1928, in Bay County, Michigan to John W. and Alma K. (Oswald) Schnell.  She married Donald R. Libbey on November 3,1950, in Durand.

Alda is survived by seven children; Gloria (Byron) Reed, Kathy (John W) Blehm, Don Libbey jr, Rosemary Garcia, Tim (Lucy) Libbey, Diane (John) Godinez and JoAnn (Tim) Villaneuva; son-in-law, Raymond Garcia; 16 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, along with many other relatives and friends.  She was predeceased by her former husband, parents, siblings; William, Alois, Lillian, Ruth Irene and Tom; daughter, Barbara J. Argumedo-Steele; grandsons, Christian S. Libbey and Julian R. Garcia and daughter-in-law, Lynne Libbey,

Burial will be in Fremont Cemetery, Monitor Township, Bay County, Michigan.

A celebration of Alda’s life is being planned for July 20, 2024 at 3pm, at the home of her daughter, Kathy Blehm, in Taymouth Twp.  Please contact one of Alda’s children for details.
