Obituary of Joann Stella Shreve

Joann Shreve “Stella”, aged 76, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024 at her home in Vassar.  She fought cancer twice, but the second time was too much for her.

 She was born on June 14, 1947 in Flint, Michigan to Walter Zwerican & Annabelle (Girard) Zwerican Rohrer.  She married Tom Shreve on September 11, 1971, and they enjoyed 52 1/2 years together.  They raised her 3 children together in Vassar.  She enjoyed the outdoors, life, and her family.  She worked as an upholsterer, for many years.  She always enjoyed a party, a beer, and she was known as the "Keno Queen".

She is survived by her husband, Tom Shreve; an older brother, John (Vicki) Zwerican; a younger sister, Diane (Glenn) Jones; a sister-in-law, Elaine Zwerican; a step-sister, Jill Rohrer; a step-brother, Kevin (Kim) Rohrer; her 3 children, Kathy (David) Withers, Jerry Schultz, and Tina (Scot) Faulk; her 5 grandchildren, Joshua (Nichole) David, David (Kara) Withers, Shaunee Withers, Trevor (Hailey) Schultz, and Jonathan Bauer; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father Walter; her mother, Annabelle; and her 2 brothers, Jerry & Jim Zwerican.   

She will be missed by many.  

In keeping with Joann's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. The family asks for no donations, however, memorial donations may be made to charity of the donor’s choice.
