Please share a memory of Geraldyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

On Friday April 12, 2024 Geraldine Mae Smith (Gerry) passed away with her family at side at the age of 78. Gerry was born on September 18, 1945 in Midland, MI to Gerald and Mary (Williams) Fauble. She graduated  from Midland high school in 1963. She worked in medical billing at Midland Hospital followed by becoming the manager of x-ray building office in Saginaw for over a decade. She retired from her own business as a medical transcriptionist.

While growing up she had a passion for horses and was a member of Chippewa Trail Riders 4-H group. She competed and became a proficient barrel racer. She had a great love for animals of all kinds. As a youth rescued animals wild and tame. This continued into her adult life. She was never without a pet. She worked briefly with Michigan Standard Poodle Rescue. She also had a love for her family and hosted many gatherings at her home.

She was preceded in death by her father Gerald, her mother Mary, brother Lloyd Fauble, sister Gail Boehm and grandson Justin Parsons.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years Robert Smith, sons Terry (Margaret) Parsons of Freeland, Mark (Cathleen) Parsons of Freeland , Todd (Anne) Parsons of Lebanon, Maine, Eric (Tiffany) Smith of Washington state and daughter Jamie Jorgensen of Saginaw, sisters Ellen Richardson of Bay City and Ronda (Melvin) Jones of Freeland, 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and another on the way.

Following Gerry’s wishes  cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may consider animal rescue of their choice.  To sign online guestbook, visit Arrangements made with Cremation Society of Mid-Michigan.
