Gary Wade Brocht, born on March 2, 1950, at home in Winterfield Township to Frank and Ines Brocht (Keehn), passed away peacefully on April 21, 2024, at the age of 74, surrounded by his family.
Gary was the eldest son and child of Frank and Ines. His day always began at 5 a.m., watching the sunrise and wildlife while savoring his first cup of coffee. He was a pillar of the community, known for his warm hospitality and generosity. He had a passion for bringing people together over a cup of coffee, hosting gatherings for friends and neighbors.
A hardworking entrepreneur, Gary’s work history started driving truck, at Anderson windows in Florida. After he ran a dairy farm for many years in MI. From 1988-1995 he owned a fishing store (Evart Sports) in Evart, MI. He worked for Four Winns until he attended hardwood lumber grader school and graded lumber at Cadillac Forest Products. Gary had a strong work ethic and versatility. He was a “jack of all trades”. Years later he returned to the trucking industry until his retirement.
In his free time, Gary enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including hunting and fishing. His love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him, and he found solace in nature's beauty.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ines Brocht, his wife, Denise Jo Brocht (Keehn), and his youngest son, Wade Brocht. His life lives on in his son Andy granddaughters Katelyn, Allison, and Lauren and his four great-grandchildren. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to his family and community. Gary's memory will continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives he touched.
A service to celebrate Gary’s life will be held this Saturday at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 220 South Mill Street, Marion, MI 49665, on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 1pm.
