Obituary of Laura Ann Frendscho

Laura Ann Kelbey Frendscho, of St. Charles, age 98, passed away April 22, 2024. Her life was a legacy of unwavering dedication to her family. Laura was born October 3, 1925 in Saginaw, MI. the youngest daughter of Frank and Corletta (Lester) Kelbey. She married Eugene Frendscho on August 19, 1950. 

Laura graduated from Saginaw HS then worked at Lufkin Rule. In her younger years, Laura enjoyed going out dancing, where she met her future husband at the Golden Glow. She held onto that joy throughout her life and would break into tap moves well into her eighties. They settled on a farm in St. Charles, raised a family, and built a comfortable life together. Laura was a gifted gardener and avid reader. Following retirement, Laura and Gene became snowbirds, spending winters in FL and traveling the roads of the US and Canada, enjoying nature along the way. Laura was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. 

Laura shared her love through her actions; she was generous, always ready to offer practical wisdom, and provided unfailing support. Laura was preceded in death by Gene Frendscho, her husband of 60 years. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her children Daniel (Val) Frendscho, Lawrence (Darlene) Frendscho, Thomas (Mary) Haak-Frendscho, and Kathleen (Bob Raade) Delao; grandchildren Cara Fox, Scott (Andrea) Frendscho, E. Maude (Sean Collins) Haak-Frendscho, Michele Frendscho, Shelby (Burton Desser) Frendscho, and Kelly (Mario) Perez; and great-grandchildren Kaleb, Grayson, Maya, Brantley, Mo, and Maddox. There will be a graveside service at 10 am, Monday, May 13, 2024, at St. Mary’s Cemetery, West Spruce, St. Charles, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Charles Area Museum.
