Obituary of Debbie Jo Awad

Our loving mother Debbie Jo Awad “Duffy”, went out with a bang April 23, 2024 surrounded by family, the night of the loudest two bangs of thunder and lightning, and no rain.  I said “Here comes Jesus”!  My mom passed right at that moment.  Debbie was born June 20,1955 in Grayling, Michigan to the late John and Connie Duffy. She resided in Bay City, Michigan. 

Debbie never left home without her make up on, her cup, her hanky in her pocket, and her purse that weighed 15 lbs.  My mom had a huge personality in a little body. She loved her friends, rings, visiting Grayling, her plants, pets, thrifting, mini trinkets, memorabilia, and much more.

She is survived by her children, Christina (Kurt) Stevens and Greg Mulder; grandchildren, Anthony (Destiny), Nicholas (Kayla), Roberto (Rebecca), Cardenas, and Kiara Scott; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Phillip Faustman, Sherry Nichols, Cathy (John) Luce, and Rita (Rick) Millikin; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lydia Atherton; longtime love, Heinz Meisel; sister-in-law, Suzie Faustman; and brother-in-law, Frankie Nichols.
