Marilyn Doris Kohler

Saginaw, Michigan

Marilyn Doris Kohler, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away May 24, 2024. She was born February 26, 1936 in Carson City, Michigan to the late Harland and Marjorie Garlock.  She married Clarence Kohler on March 5, 1955 in Carson City, Michigan.  Marilyn enjoyed spending time with friends.  If that time included a trip to the casino, then she was in her happy place.  Marilyn loved eating meals out, whether it be with her friends at the senior luncheon in Hemlock, Michigan or at any restaurant with friends or family.  Crossword puzzles kept her mind sharp.  Marilyn and her husband Clarence owned the United Rent All store in Kalamazoo, Michigan from 1967 to 1986.  They retired to Florida in 1990 where they made lifelong friends at the First United Methodist Church in Homosassa.  They moved to the Saginaw area in 2007 and attended Nelson United Methodist Church in Hemlock.

Marilyn is survived by her 3 sons, Garry, Daryl, and Hal all of Kalamazoo, Michigan; a daughter, Carol (Jim) Roberts  of Bay City, Michigan; six grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren;  sisters-in-law, Nancy Garlock of Atlanta, Michigan, Melva Kohler of Vicksburg, Michigan, and Donna Crouch of Schoolcraft; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron and Val Kohler of Richland, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband Clarence; her sister, Mary; and her brother, Dayle.
