Obituary of Lucy Irene Wright

Lucy Irene Wright, age 71, passed June 6, 2024 after a courageous battle with stage 4 Lung Cancer. Lucy was born January 5, 1953 to Benjamin Hampton and Vernie Hampton in Paintsville Kentucky. She was one of seven children, and when she was six, her family relocated to Michigan.  She met Warren Wright in 1972, they married in 1974, and shared 43 years of marriage until Warren's passing in 2017.

Lucy loved reading, calligraphy, writing, and a love of music which spanned many genres. Above all, Lucy was a devoted grandmother who loved spending time with her ten grandchildren, often remarking that they were what she was most proud of. Lucy will be most remembered for her strength of character, loving nature, and devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed.  

Lucy is survived by her children, Warren (Erin), Crystal (Jeremiah), and Penny; her grandchildren, Shawn, Maxwell, Chrissie, Celeste, Quinnlan, Isaac, Karis, Ariana, Abigail and Rowan; her sister, Sally; brothers, Hershal, Benjamin, Chilli and Thomas; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Warren; her parents, Benjamin and Vernie; and her brother, Arkie.

In keeping with Lucy's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The Family would like to offer a special thank you to the Memorial Home Healthcare and Hospice Team.
