                                                                                        August 6, 1930 – June 16, 2024 

 

Louise Marie Schwanke of Bay City, Michigan, age 93, went to be with our Lord Sunday, June 16, 2024. A Christian burial will be celebrated in Capac, Michigan, with immediate family on a date yet to be determined. 

Louise was born in Capac, Michigan, on August 6, 1930, daughter of the late Albert and Josephine (Klann) Stine. On March 7, 1950, Louise married her high school sweetheart Vernon Schwanke in Capac, Michigan. They were married for 66 years until Vernon’s passing on August 21, 2016. Louise retired from Bay Medical Center in 1993 after 25 years of service, where she proudly served as the Head Nurse of the nursery. She then gave of herself as a volunteer in many different capacities and organizations. She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church where amongst many other things, she served on the Parish Service Guild. 

Louise is survived by 2 daughters, Janette (Kurt) Wesley and Jill (Ryan) Robb; five grandchildren, Sean (Karissa) Wesley, Scott (Alyssa) Wesley, Kendra Robb, Erica Robb and Dana Robb; seven great-grandchildren, Reid, Raelynne, Rielle, Rosalyn, Everitt, Graham, and Raegan; two sisters, Alberta (Norbert) Conrad and Joann Sholtis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Schwanke; siblings, Alice (Les) Odgen, Irene (Harry) Kinyon, and Maynard (Lucille) Stine, and brother-in-law, Jim Sholtis.  To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com  Arrangements made with the Cremation Society of Mid Michign.
