Obituary of Walter Fredrick Webb

Walter “Walt” Frederick Webb, age 90, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday June 20, 2024 in Bay City, Michigan. He was born February 27, 1934 in Bay City to the late William and Margaret (Moessner) Webb.  He married Kathleen Groth on August 24, 1957.

Walt graduated from Bay City Central High School before earning a degree from Michigan State University. He dedicated many years to his career as an Industrial engineer at the Bay City Chevrolet small parts plant, where his industrious nature was greatly valued. Walt's life was marked by his loving, active, and proud nature, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. 

Walt was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, reflecting his warm and generous spirit. Walt was known for his love of building projects and took great joy in entertaining and engaging with his grandchildren.

Walter is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Kathleen Webb; sons, David Webb, Jon (Sarah) Webb, and Kevin (Karen) Webb; grandchildren, Jennifer Bell, Cathryn (Lyle) Schultz, Joseph (Melissa) Merriweather-Webb, Stacy (Steven) Marcet, Julia Shepard, Ryan Webb and Zachary Webb; 14 great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Pauline Webb; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Howard (Patricia) Webb and William Webb; and sister, Betty Ann (Edgar) Phares. 

Honoring Walt's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
