Obituary of Douglas Shoemaker

On July 30, 2024, Douglas Allen Shoemaker, age 75, passed away peacefully after a bout with a year and half sickness.  Doug had a long career in social services and also spent many enjoyable hours canoeing and camping. He enjoyed buying and selling collectibles and knew the price of just about anything he came across. He had a great sense of humor and an uncanny memory for certain things. If you gave him any line from a 60’s or 70’s song, he would tell you the singer’s name and song title.

Doug is survived by his wife Nancy; his children, Joel, Jaime Lamindola, Jared, Michael and Gabriel Shoemaker; mother-in-law, Virginia Ayres; three 3 sisters-in-law; and three brothers-in-law; one aunt and uncles in-law; and many cousins-in-law on both sides of the family. He is also survived by his mother, Geraldine – age 102; brothers, Allen and Rick; sister, Kathy; many nieces and nephews; and a grand-niece who was born on his last birthday. He will be missed.
