When I was in college, my mother kicked me out of the house. Maria took me in for a couple months. She encouraged me to contact my father who I haven't spoken to in years. Thanks to her, I was able to move in with my dad and start a much better life. I will forever be grateful for that. Over time, she became like a second mother to me. Her daughters became like my sisters. I am so thankful for my second family.
