Ted Judd

Obituary of Ted Phillip Judd

Please share a memory of Ted to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Theodore Phillip Judd Sr., age 77, lovingly called Dad, Grandpa, Unc, Uncle Elvis, Teddy, and Ted.  Ted was born in Saginaw and lived in St. Charles most of his life. He worked many jobs over the years but his favorite was working for himself with his lumber mill, taking the tree down to usable boards and seeing them turn into beautiful cabinets, wood trim, and clocks that he made.

Ted enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He often rescued family members whose cars broke down. If anyone called asking for help, he was often quick to go help them no matter what it was. He loved talking and laughing with friends. Ted had his own forklift built, called Frankenlift, because it was built out of so many different vehicles, of course, brakes were optional. Ted seemed to know everyone, with many friends coming and going with his yard full of multiple vehicles.

Ted and Pat had many foster children over the years who also called him Dad, and many nieces and nephews who frequently spent time at his house.

Ted was married to Patricia Ann Wargo on July 17, 1965, and she survives him.   He is also survived by his sons, Ted Jr. (Monica), and Timothy; grandchildren, Alexander (Danielle), Steven, and Jacob; a brother, Ron (Connie) Judd; in-laws, Nancy, Marion (Chuck), and Leola; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Malachi and Minerva; sister, Sharon; brothers and sister-in-law, David, Dale, Robert, Kenneth, Delmar, Robert and Barb.

A celebration of Ted’s life will be held on September 28, 2024, from 1pm – 5pm, at Nelson United Methodist Church Hall, 5950 S. Hemlock Rd., Hemlock, MI. Please come dressed casual as Dad would have. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to assist the family with expenses.  To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com  Arrangements made with the Cremation Society of Mid Michigan.
