Please share a memory of Dennis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dennis Craig Cherry, a beacon of kindness and love, left this world on September 22, 2024, at the age of 78, in the comforting embrace of his family in Saginaw, Michigan. Born on March 30, 1946, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Robert and Helen (Knezek) Cherry. Dennis's journey was one marked by devotion to his family, service to his country, and a commitment to the community that he so dearly loved.

Dennis's life was a testament to the power of love and commitment. He married the love of his life, Rosemary Ciaramitaro Cherry, on November 25, 1967. They built a life together in St. Charles, Michigan where they resided for 55 years. Their enduring partnership was the cornerstone of a family that grew to include their children Marnie (Matt) Wallace and Daniel Cherry, as well as their cherished grandchildren Brianna Cherry, Emily (Galen) Patchett, and Keegan Wallace. Dennis's legacy is also carried on by his brother Robert (Debbie) Cherry, sister Gail Meyer, and in-laws Gary and Nikkie Blakeslee as well as Robert and Nancy Kaufman and Roland and Shirley Ciaramitaro. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever remember his gentle spirit.

Dennis was predeceased by his father and mother-in-law Leo and Helen Ciaramitaro, as well as his brother and sister-in-law William and Rita Ciaramitaro.

Dennis's professional life was marked by dedication and hard work. He spent seven years with the C & O Railway before dedicating 31 years to Michigan Airgas. His commitment to his country was evident through his honorable service in the Army Reserves from 1966 to 1972. Dennis also found fellowship and purpose in his involvement with the Wolverine Sportsman Club, Polish Falcons, Eagles Club, and the American Legion, where he shared his passion for community and camaraderie.

Beyond his professional and service commitments, Dennis was a man of many interests. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as reading and target shooting. His love for vacations in Ludington was matched only by the delight he took in spending time with his grandchildren. These moments, filled with laughter and learning, were the ones that Dennis treasured most.

Dennis's character was the embodiment of the quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." His kind, loving, and gentle nature made him a pillar of strength and a source of comfort to all who knew him. He lived his life as a motivational force, inspiring others to find the beauty in everyday moments and to cherish the bonds of family and friendship.

As we reflect on the life of Dennis Craig Cherry, we are reminded that the measure of a man is not in the wealth he accumulates, but in the lives he touches. Dennis's impact on the world was profound, and his memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. His was a life well-lived, full of purpose, love, and an unwavering commitment to making the world a better place.

Dennis's journey may have come to a close, but his spirit remains a guiding light for us all. In the words of Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Dennis Craig Cherry will forever be a part of us, his legacy etched into the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
