There were about 7 or 8 of us kids that had horses within 6 miles of each other and we rode together every chance we got. We sure had fun, in summer swimming and playing in the Maple river and winter galloping through deep snow. It must have been in the early eighties, when Sue, Cathy, my sister Karen and I were up on the Michigan shore to shore trail ride. We had so much fun! Early one morning, us girls found a fawn sleeping on the side of the trail and we galloped all the way back to camp to tell everyone and made them ride out to see it. You would have thought we found gold. I guess in a way we did, because dear memories become just that. Happy Trails Cathy, rest in peace.
