Obituary of Jacqueline Lois Laubach

Please share a memory of Jacqueline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jacqueline Lois Laubach “Jackie” passed away peacefully in Saginaw, Michigan on October 29, 2024 at the age of 93.

Jackie was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 24, 1930, to the late Fritz H. Wahl and Laura G. (Farmer) Wahl. Her and her sister, Dona, were very close and grew up in a very loving family. She graduated from Mackenzie High School with the class of 1948.

Jackie met Walter Laubach in Columbus, Ohio, and the two were married on June 7, 1952. Jackie and Walt shared the same birthday and always sang together to celebrate. They were married for 59 years.

They moved to Saginaw, Michigan and had 3 children. Her family was her biggest joy, and loved any chance to spend time with them. They made frequent trips to Detroit for family gatherings and celebrations over the years.

Jackie was very involved with her church, Ames United Methodist, where she also served as the church secretary for over 20 years. She was on several church committees, prayer groups, choir and in the calling group visiting people that could not make it to church. She loved the Lord and had a servant's heart.

They moved to Arizona after the birth of their granddaughters. She loved being a grandma and was such a positive figure in their lives. She was also very active in the Scottsdale United Methodist Church, volunteering for several activities and made many friends there. They returned to live in Saginaw again in 2007.

Jackie lived a full and active life and loved traveling, reading, playing cards, walking, going to the movies, singing with her husband (or anyone), shopping and getting together with her many friends.

Jackie is survived by her daughters Cathy Waldbillig of Phoenix, Arizona and Jennifer Laubach of Saginaw, Michigan, her granddaughters Lauren (Jaime) Gutierrez and Megan (Blake) Irwin, two great-grandchildren, Oscar and Eleanor Gutierrez. Also surviving is her cherished niece, Sue Smith, and several other nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Jackie is predeceased by her husband, Walter Laubach, her son, David Laubach and her sister, Dona Duncan.

At Jackie's request, cremation has already taken place. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date.
