Cordean Perrault passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024 in Bay City, Michigan. She started her life’s journey on October 14, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Cecila Sebrasse. Growing up in the south end of the city, Cordean was a graduate of Central High School and Bay City Junior (later Delta) College where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Social Science. As a teenager, she worked at the legendary City Dairy on Broadway. Cordean married Robert “Bob” Perrault and moved with him to Arizona while he served in the United States Air Force. When the family returned to Michigan in the late 60’s.
She was active in the PTA and worked as a teacher's aide, later volunteering at the school library where her daughter attended. Cordean joined the Bay City Public Library System, serving the community at most branches and via the bookmobile where she was valued by staff and patrons. In 1992, she was named Woman of the Year by the Bay City chapter of the American Business Women’s Association where she had previously served as president and corresponding secretary. When not caring for her family, Cordean was renowned for her sewing skills, making clothing for herself and her daughter, as well as wedding dresses for family friends. She delighted in handicrafts of all kinds, including cake decorating, and ceramics. She was a lover of animals, especially dogs, and Cordean and Bob always enjoyed canine companions in the house.
