Obituary of Phyllis Jean Sperlbaum

Phyllis Jean Sperlbaum, a beacon of gentle kindness and loving warmth, departed this world on December 20, 2024, at the age of 90. Born in Romulus, Michigan, on December 11, 1934, Phyllis lived a life marked by devotion to her family, a passion for the outdoors, and an unshakeable spirit of adventure.

Phyllis, surrounded by family, peacefully passed away in Midland, Michigan under hospice care. She was a woman whose actions spoke volumes of her character; a caring mother, a diligent housewife, and a friend to all she encountered. Her laughter and love were the keystones of the Sperlbaum family home.

Her journey through life was shared with her beloved husband, Ronald, who predeceased her after 60 years of marriage, a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Together, they built a life filled with joy and cherished memories. Phyllis was the proud mother of four children: Roger (and wife, Pam), Larry (and wife, Donna), Tim, and her daughter, Debbie. Her role as a mother was one she held close to her heart, always providing a nurturing and supportive environment for her children to grow.

Phyllis also leaves behind her brother, John (and wife, Rose), who, alongside her, shared the legacy of their parents, the late John and Irene Huebner. Her family was her pride, and she embraced every moment with them.

An outdoor enthusiast, Phyllis reveled in the times spent at the Rush Lake cottage, where the serenity of nature was a constant source of joy. She was an active member of the Wildwood Wheelers RV Club, where she and Ronald created lifelong friendships and explored the country's beauty. Her adventurous spirit was also evident in her love for riding snowmobiles and four-wheelers, activities that brought her closer to the world she loved to explore.

Phyllis will be remembered as the embodiment of gentleness, her loving nature, and her kind heart. These attributes were the foundation upon which she built her life and the legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Her memory will be cherished, and her presence deeply missed. As we say goodbye to Phyllis Jean Sperlbaum, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, with every moment embraced with grace and love.
