Obituary of Richard Alan Brown

Richard “Dick” Alan Brown, age 79, of West Branch, passed away December 19, 2024. He was born in Detroit Michigan on May 25, 1945 to William L. and Viola E. (Gray) Brown, and was the 4th of four boys. Richard was raised in Northville Michigan; graduated from Northville High School in 1963; and went on to Cleary University where he studied Marketing Management, graduating in 1968.  He was hired by Perkins Engines of America as the Parts Marketing Manager and remained there until the company closed in 1984.  After enjoying a few years of retirement, he returned to work at American Isuzu motors as the Executive Manager for Parts, where he remained until they closed in 2004. He then decided to retire for good, and moved to his favorite spot in the woods, West Branch Michigan.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Janice Brown; daughter. Kimberly (Bill) Bucher; sons, Shawn Ferguson, Collin (Ashley) Ferguson, & Joshua Ferguson; two grandsons, Raymond & Kevin Hosner; and a great-granddaughter.  Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William, Norman, & Thomas Brown; and his son, David Brown.

A Memorial Service is being planned for a future date.
