Obituary of Linda Sue Rivard

Linda Sue (Priest) Rivard, age 63, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Bay City, Michigan. In her final days, Linda was surrounded by the love and support of close family and friends. She was born on November 24, 1961, to Maxine (Dufresne) and Robert Priest, Linda grew up in Bay City alongside her six siblings. She graduated from Handy High School in 1979 and married Chris Rivard on May 28, 1983. As a devoted Navy wife for 20 years, Linda embraced the challenges and joys of military life, moving to various locations during Chris's service. Throughout her life, she balanced her roles as a dedicated wife and mother with a full-time career. Linda retired in 2020 after 17 years of service at Walmart.

Linda was the beloved mother of three children: Christopher (Janie), Samantha, and Andrew (Emily). She was also a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life. Linda cherished her family deeply and shared her home with her three beloved dogs: Chewy, Grizzley, and Hopper. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Chris; her children; her siblings Betty, Mark (Vicky), Margaret (Steve), and Bonnie; as well as many close family members and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents Maxine and Robert; her sister Brenda; her brother Robert; and her father-in-law David. Linda’s warmth, resilience, and dedication will be remembered by all who knew her. She has been cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date to honor her memory.
