It is with deep appreciation for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of John E. Engel. Born on January 20, 1943, in Corpus Christi, Texas to William John Engel and Olive R. Engel, John embarking on his ultimate journey on January 8, 2025, wrapping up a rich and meaningful life of 81 years.
His dedication to service was evident early when John joined the Air Force. His time in uniform not only illustrated his commitment to his country but also endowed him with a sense of discipline and camaraderie that colored his interactions throughout his life. After his military career, John found joy in simple pleasures; he nurtured a deep appreciation for the great outdoors, a hobby that allowed him to indulge his love for the tranquil beauty of nature.
Those fortunate enough to cross paths with John often described him as generous, kind, and gentle. These attributes were the cornerstone upon which he built and sustained relationships throughout his life. He extended these virtues not only to his fellow humans but also to the animals that frequented his backyard, where he took pleasure in feeding the wildlife.

Engel II, and grandsons, Steven White and Gage Engel.
