Obituary of Dorine Ermine Gibbon

Dorine Gibbon, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away with her family at her side on January 9, 2025 at the Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Home, at the age of 92. The daughter of the late Joseph and Flossie (Van Brunt) Rousseau, Dorine was born in Saginaw on March 13 1932. She married Norm Gibbon on June 25, 1975.  

She began working at the age of 16 at the Swanbeck Ice Cream Company located in downtown Saginaw, and then, was employed as a nursing Assistant at the Community Hospital. She loved music and dancing, and her idol was Elvis Presley.

Surviving are her brother and sister, Emil (Diana) Rousseau and Yvonne Gibbon; two children, Deborah (Alexander Walewski) and Michael (Michelle) Dijak; six grandchildren, Angela (Joe) Stone, Steven (Carol) Walewski, Douglas (Crystal) Butler, Katie Torrez, Chris (Kelly) Dijak, and Mike (Jeannie) Dijak; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. She was predeceased by her husband, Norm; her daughter, Annette (Dijak) Tyson; and her sister, Josephine Fritz.
