Sevilla, Lorenzo L. (Larry)

Bay City, Michigan

Lorenzo L Sevilla, age 87, died on Jan. 27, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Winterhaven, Texas Feb. 11, 1937, to the late Emmetario & Guadalupe (Lopez) Sevilla. As a young boy he traveled from TX to MI as a migrant worker with his family; filling his youth with adventure and unforgettable memories. Those experiences provided him with many captivating stories to share, often highlighting what was important to him: family. In MI he met the love of his life Arlene (Umphrey), and on Jan. 26, 1956, they got married.

He would spend over 20 years working at American Hoist while raising his family. As an extremely talented handyman and mechanic he always shared his gifts, never hesitating to help anyone. His generosity always went far leaving many impressed and speaking highly of him. He would spend many summer days helping his daughter and son-in-law on their farm and at local farmers markets, sharing his knowledge and talents.

In his younger days, he enjoyed bowling, playing cards, hunting and snowmobiling. Once retired, he and Arlene spent winters in Yuma, AZ. In Yuma they would enjoy the warm weather, star gazing, casinos & gold digging. He showed us what love and care truly is when Arlene developed Alzheimer's; diligently taking care of her until she passed. Since her passing his time was spent largely with family and casino visits. We could not have had a better role model for our future generations. He was a proud and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be greatly missed. We were truly blessed.

He is survived by his children Wayne (Cherie) Sevilla, Christina Sevilla, & Dina (Norman) Corrion. His grandchildren Ryan Castaneda, Jamie (Ana) Moultane, Wayne (Gina) Sevilla II, Norman Corrion II, Nicholas Corrion, David (Katrina) Sevilla, Tyler (Abby) Gerard, Matthew (Ashley) Corrion, Sarah (Brandon) Sullivan. His great grandchildren Ryan & Rylea Castaneda, KC, Jaxon, Ava, Trey & Leo Sevilla, Braden, Aaron & Carter Moultane, Gwen & Mia Corrion, Kaden, Arya & Hadley Sullivan. He is also survived by siblings Beverly Honeck, Margaret Sevilla, Frances (Gary) Wright, Terry (Raul) Rocha Pepe Sevilla, sister in laws, Helen Sevilla & Yoland Sevilla. He was preceded in death by brothers Pablo, Emmett Jr., & Lewis Sevilla & sisters Georgia Velasquez & Mary Ceja.

Thank you to McLaren Hospice for all the care. No memorial service will be held in honor of his wishes.
