Obituary of Hilda R. Dahl

Hilda Rebecca (Rogers) Dahl Hilda Dahl of Fairview, Michigan, died peacefully at the age of 91, on December 20, 2014 at her family home in Fairview. Hilda was born on March 17, 1923, to Charles Milton and Suzanne (Stutesman) Rogers in Fairview. She married Harold "Chris" Dahl of Spruce, Michigan on June 8, 1946. They moved to Detroit and later Oakland County, where they raised their three sons. Hilda was a housewife and mother first, but after the children were grown she found enjoyment in her employment in the Township administration offices. Hilda was a member of the Mennonite and Lutheran churches, and was a faithful Christian. She was able to express her love of music and hymns by singing in the church choir her entire life. Upon Chris and Hilda's retirement, they continued living in their home in West Bloomfield in the winter, but spent most of the summer months "up north" where they owned a home, and where extended family lived. Hilda made her permanent home in Fairview in 2007 after the death of her husband, Chris. Hilda is survived by her children: Milton and Sherry Dahl of Crawfordville, Florida; Roger and Deborah Dahl of Plano, Texas; and Martin Dahl of Fairview, MI; her grandchildren: Scott Powers, Andrea Dahl, and Beth (Kevin) Bowser; her great grand- children: Morgan Willis, Amber and Alex Stewart; and great-great grandchild Aryannaa Forbes. Also surviving is her sister, Josephine (Oland) Kauffman of Fairview, MI, 2 sisters-in-law Edith Rogers, of Fairview, MI., and Patricia Rogers of Lansing, MI. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Besides her husband, Chris Dahl, she was preceded in death by her parents Milt and Susie Rogers, her brothers Boyd and Ray Rogers, her sister Eula and brother-in-law Alvin Swartz; her granddaughters Whitney Stewart and Nancy Elizabeth Dahl, and her grandson Ricky Powers. A Memorial Service will be held for Hilda at 11:00 A.M. on Friday January 2, 2015 at the Fairview Mennonite Church in Fairview, MI. Memorial donations may be given to Hospice Advantage, PO Box 635, Atlanta, MI 49709. To sign online guestbook visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com.
