Obituary of Christopher "Tony" A. Belanger
Belanger, Christopher A. "Tony"
Bay City, MI
Christopher passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the age of 52. He was at home with his family at his side after fighting liver and lung cancer for 2 years. He was born at Eloise Hospital in Wayne County Michigan on November 26, 1962.
Tony was a great father and son. His wife, daughters, and mother were his whole life and he loved each and every one of his family members. Tony was a major prankster, but he would give anyone his last dollar or the shirt off his back if he thought they might need it. He was always the favorite "fun" uncle. Tony loved spending time with the family participating in whatever was going on. Kids kept him young at heart. He loved to fish and wanted to go fishing "just one more time", however, the weather and his health didn't allow it.
Tony leaves behind loving and funny memories of him with his wife Rebekah M. Belanger; daughters Shawnee D. Belanger and Serjio Venegas and Cheyenne R. Belanger and T.Q. Rutlidge; his mother, Mary Pongracz; brothers and sisters, Gerald (Tina) Belanger of Ecorse MI, Phillip (Stacey) Belanger of Lincoln Park MI, Tina Belanger of Ecorse MI, and Delores (Benito) Ortiz of Iowa. Also surviving are 17 nieces and nephews; 33 great-nieces and nephews; his stepdaughters, Rebekah Fraley, Lori Fraley both of Tennessee, Nikki Fraley of West Virginia; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother in law, William Moore and Uncle Danny Hempke both of Pinconning MI; and his four buddies, Saniyah, Liam, Lance, & Ali who were like his kids and he loved them. He was predeceased by his stepfather, William Pongracz who passed away April 11, 2015 in Ecorse Michigan.
No service is planned at this time, however, the family is planning a fishing day on Father's Day, weather permitting, to honor Tony and scatter his ashes over the water.
