Obituary of Gerald "Jerry" Duane Harris

Harris, Gerald "Jerry" Duane Saginaw, Michigan Jerry passed away on May 13, 2015 at 94 years of age. He was born on May 9, 1921 to the late Lula Mae Walters Harris and Oushel Kenneth Harris in Owosso, Michigan. Jerry was an active member and Patriarch of the Community of Christ Church and a long-time employee of Michigan Bell Telephone in Saginaw and Marquette. He enjoyed reading, and in younger days also camping, fishing and hunting. Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Estella Brown Harris, his children, John (Charlotte) Harris, Mark (Leng) Harris and Eileen Harris, two "adopted" daughters, Lorena McCarroll and Ike Jitta, two grandchildren, Todd (Kathy) Harris and Barbara Harris, three great-grandchildren, A.J. Kremer, Peter Kremer and Matthew Harris, one great-great-grandchild, Autumn, 2 sisters, Charlotte Gaudreau and Kay (Don) Tait, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was predeceased by three brothers, Donald, Robert and Burt Harris, two sisters, Marion Hudek and Margaret Ames and one granddaughter, Heather. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Community of Christ Church at 300 Center Road, Saginaw with Evangelist Bobby Hardin officiating. The family will receive friends at a luncheon following the memorial service in the basement of the church.
