Obituary of Dawn M. McDonald

McDonald, Dawn M. Ashley, MI Dawn passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the age of 56. She was born in Alma Michigan September 26, 1958 to Walter and Elaine (Mailand) Flegel. She enjoyed the outdoors, and activities that included fishing, swimming, hunting, and gardening. She was "THE" caregiver to everyone and anyone who needed help. She was an animal lover, especially when it came to her dogs. She was an excellent cook and was affectionately known by many as "the pie lady". More than anything, she was a wonderful and beautiful woman who loved her family, not just her own, but her entire extended family. She is survived by Gary, her husband of 42 years; son, Jason McDonald of Ashley MI; mother, Elaine Flegel of Alma MI; and her brothers, Dale (Kathy) Flegel of Charlotte MI, Ralph Flegel of Shelby NC, and Richard (Janet) Flegel of Elwell MI. Also surviving are her mother in law, Dorothy McDonald of Ithaca MI; brothers and sisters in law, Chuck (Becky) McDonald and Rod (Linda) McDonald all of Ithaca MI; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her father Walter. A Memorial Service is being planned for the fall. In lieu of flowers, those considering an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Pardee Cancer Foundation or Mid Michigan Hospice.
