Obituary of Gladys Marion Chambers

Chambers, Gladys M. Bay City, Michigan Gladys, age 86, passed away at her home in the company of her family, with the comfort of McLaren Hospice, on Monday August 24, 2015. She was born in Bay City, Michigan to the late John and Dorothy DeBats, on February 12, 1929. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting, reading, and walking. She was an avid Labor Day Mackinaw Bridge walker for the past 35+ years. She has left with cherished memories; her son Ross L. (Holly) Chambers and her daughter Susan K. (Tom) Fry, grandchildren; Mike and Dick (Renee) Coyer, Lindsay Hogan, Allison (John) Dreznes, Raymond and Hannah Fry, great grandchildren; Madison, Nathan and Andrew Coyer and Eleanor Dreznes, brother Martin DeBats, sister Carolyn Underdahl, sister in law Patricia Weigle, and several nieces, nephews, and special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond W. Chambers, her daughter Cheryl R. Coyer and a sister in law Betty View. A Celebration of her Life will occur on Sunday August 30, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church. Visitation will take place at 11:00 A.M. followed by service at 12:00 Noon with Pastor William Alwardt officiating. Per her request, cremation of her remains will take place and she will be re-united in a niche with her husband in the Garden of the Good Shepherd Statue at Floral Gardens Cemetery and with her daughter in Mackinaw City, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice, or Zion Lutheran Church Music Fund, or Zion Lutheran School Sound System.
