Alfred Hasenburg

Obituary of Alfred W. Hasenburg

Alfred W. Hasenburg, age 82, was called home by his Lord Jesus as he was surrounded by his family on Friday, September 4, 2015 at the Cartwright Residence Hospice Home. He was born on May 28, 1933 in Bay City, Michigan to Alfred and Myrtle (Johnson) Hasenburg. Alfred (Al) graduated from Central High School, and worked for 39 years at the Aetna Cement plant in Essexville, MI. Al was a Christ-follower and met his wife, Evelyn (Pease) Hasenburg at church and continued to worship at the Faith Church of the Nazarene in Bay City. He loved going up north and spending time with his beloved family in the Skidway Lake area where they would canoe, swim, four-wheel and enjoy camp fires. His family and friends were his passion, as can be seen in the hundreds of home videos he did throughout his life. He is survived by his beloved wife Evelyn; sons, David (Laurie), Mark (Kimberly); 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, and many precious nieces and nephews. Al is also survived by three sisters; Doris Herron-Good, Ida Hayes and Shirley Jones. As one grandchild wrote "Grandpa's legacy is that of a "little-Christ" which according to C.S. Lewis, is what all Christians need to model to the world" We were all his "Sunshine". We all can have the sunshine that Al radiated. It's Jesus! A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 1:00pm at Faith Church of the Nazarene, 1103 N. Henry St, Bay City, MI. A luncheon will follow at the church.
