Obituary of Betty JoAnn Freund

Betty Joann Freund, age 82, of National City, passed away on Wednesday September 23, 2015. She was born in McIvor, MI on March 24, 1933, the daughter of Raymond and Anna (Jordan) Kendall. On August 7, 1954, she married William Freund in Tawas City. Betty was a homemaker and proudly took care of her children. She was almost a lifetime resident of Iosco County with several years in Florida. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oscoda and also a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Tawas City. She leaves her loving husband of 61 years, William Freund of National City to cherish her memory along with her four sons; Steven (Lori) Freund of Gladwin, Paul Freund of Malcom, Craig (Patti) Freund of Grand Blanc, Todd (Nidia) Freund of Chandler, AZ, and one daughter Cynthia Bruce of Saginaw, TX. Her children blessed her with twelve beautiful grandchildren: Tricia, Dayton, Whitney, Matthew, Blake, Michael, Ashley, Lindsey, Kendra, Victoria, Rossie, and Todd; and three wonderful great-grandchildren: Abriella, Carson, and Sophia. She is also survived by her brothers: Harvey Kendall of National City, Robert Kendall of Holly, Louis Kendall of National City and a sister, Mae Martin of Glennie and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Joseph and James Kendall; sisters Joyce and Marjorie Kendall. Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 1:30pm at 4049 Indian Lake Rd, National City, MI. The family will receive friends and relatives. Those wishing to send an expression of sympathy are asked to consider making a donation to Alzheimer's Foundation of America in lieu of flowers.
