Obituary of Ford Earl Tatum
Tatum, Ford Earl
Beaverton, MI 48612
The good Lord Jesus took Earl home Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 70 years old. He peacefully passed away in the loving arms of his wife. Earl was born on October 11, 1945 in the small town of Portageville, MO. Earl spent 30 years working hard to provide and take care of his family, and retired from GM in Ypsilanti.
He was a man of many talents. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working around his home, feeding his deer and other outside critters. He could not wait to spend time with his precious grandchildren - 4-wheeling, fishing, hunting and teaching them all he knew about outdoor nature that he loved and cared about so much. Earl was known for his humor and loved to joke around with everyone. He was a kind, generous person and will be missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Sheila and 4 children, Brian Tatum, Kevin Tatum, Todd Tatum and Shona Harding. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren; his brother, Charles Jr. Tatum; his sisters, Donna Cayton, Shirley Versemann, Mary Rhoades, Lillian Anderson, and Mildred Cornille. We certainly cannot leave out his 4 loyal puppies that adored him so much. He was predeceased by his little brother Aubra Tatum.
Per Earl's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Those considering an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association. The family would like to thank all the doctors and "Earl's Girls" at Midland Hospital for their comfort and support in Earl's final days. Words alone cannot express the gratitude that we have for you. ***Jesse, if you see this, we believe that you are an angel that God sent to us when we needed you most!
