Ron went to heaven on Saturday November 28, 2015 to be with Jesus and his family who went before him. Ron always said he was lucky enough to meet, fall in love, and marry the two most amazing women. Ron was predeceased by first wife Lavon Vanderstelt and then by his second wife Micky Vanderstelt, his parents Johannes and Edith Vanderstelt, his brother Robert (Charlotte)Vanderstelt, his sister Joyce Buit, and by two sons Rick Vanderstelt and Ronald Vanderstelt Jr. He is survived by sons; Victor (Lori) Vanderstelt, Rod Vanderstelt, and Mitch (Linda) Resk. He is also survived by daughters; Debra Smith, Dena (Rod) Henderson and Deb (Jerry) Todd. Ron says goodbye to his beloved grandchildren; Andrea, Angela, Steven, Frankie, Gordon, Keri, Randal, Bianca, Lucas, Melissa, Andrew, Jason, Jessica, Kaitlin and Ashtin, great grandchildren; Lexi, Rachel, Erin, Devin, Randal, Jack, Keegan, Damien, and Bentley. Ron says goodbye to his beloved dog: Jasmine, and special friend Betty Fath. He was a special Dad and an amazing "Papa" to all of his grandchildren and loved by all.
Ron was philanthropic and donated to many charitable organizations. Ron was a proud Veteran of the Korean War where he served as Corporal in the Army. Ron spent much of his career life working for DTE energy in Muskegon, MI. When he retired, he moved to Wixom Lake in Beaverton, MI to enjoy the relaxation of lake life. He enjoyed watching sports, always rooting for U of M. Ron enjoyed going to baseball games, boating, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren. Ron attended many dance and piano recitals over the years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed having summer family picnics and parties filled with stories and laughter and fishing with Melissa. Ron loved hunting and fishing, and had great memories of hunting trips with his friends Robert and Richard Wierengo. He was a Member of the Muskegon Moose and Eagles Clubs. Ron was a member of Saint Agnes Parish in Sanford. He will be so very missed by family and friends. We send our love and prayers for his safe journey to heaven.
