Obituary of Martha E. Hahn Heiser
Martha E. Hahn Heiser, 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, December 26, 2015 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility in Caro. She was born November 3, 1921 in Unionville to Leon and Julie (Forbes) Vansteenhouse. She graduated from Unionville High School. She married Arnold L. Hahn on August 8, 1939. After Arnold preceded her in death, she was remarried to Richard Heiser in June 1974. Martha loved her Lord, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Her family meant everything to her. She was a baptized member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was active in their Care and Share program. She was President of the Sebewaing VFW. She was also very artistic and loved painting pictures, sewing, flowers, and dancing. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Richard Heiser of Akron; her children Elmer (Judy) Hahn of Deford; Kay (Donald) Schuette of Elkton; Arnold Hahn, Jr. & special friend Michele of Unionville; Thomas (Judy) Hahn of Sebewaing; Elaine (Al) Horetski of Port Austin; 19 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild; sisters Dorothy VanSteenhouse, Jeannette (Kenny) McLaren, Joyce Bohn and brother Larry (Vicki) VanSteenhouse, brothers-in-law Larry (Lynn) Hahn, Allen (Karen) Hahn, sisters-in-law Bertha VanSteenhouse, Mabel Hase and Lorna Hahn. Other special people include Lynette Hahn and Diane Mathis. Preceding her in death were her husband Arnold Hahn, son William Hahn and grandsons Howie & Michael; brother Robert VanSteenhouse; aunt Julia Heckroth; brothers and sisters-in-law Jim Bohn, Buck Gainsforth, Arthur Hase, Lester and Donna Fritz, Allen and Arleen McCallum, William and Violet Hahn, Jerry and Annabelle Diefenbach, Franklin and Shirley Hahn, Mamie Tabar, Betty Wing, Curtis Schitker, Lorelli Holmes, and Charles Hahn. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday January 2, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church,6356 Center Street, Unionville, Michigan. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 12:00 until the time of service.
