I remember meeting Jim in Albuquerque in the garage of his daughter, Nancy. At the time I thought a garage was sort of a strange place to meet someone, but it quickly became obvious that he was very at home fixing things there. Nancy was very proud of his mechanical abilities, but he shrugged off her praise and acted as if it was perfectly normal for a man to be able to "think" mechanically the way he did. It was wonderful to get to know, however briefly, a man who was both talented and modest about it. I know he will be missed by Bina and Nancy.
