Obituary of Elsie Ann Piegols

Piegols, Elsie Ann Midland, MI Elsie Ann Piegols, age 89, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 4, 2016 after a brief illness at Story Point of Midland surrounded by family and friends. Elsie was born May 24, 1926 in Miami FL, later moving to Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Charles Ahsen and Mattie Mae Johnson. On September 11, 1964 she married Rolland Piegols who preceded her in death in 1997. Elsie worked on the family farm beside her husband until he retired. Elsie loved being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Elsie is survived by her son, Donald (Connie) Hahn of Midland MI, daughter, Elise Ann (Robert) Berger of Lansing MI; sister, Elva Van Horn of Orlando FL; grandchildren, Kari (Larry) Smith, Troy (Michelle) Hahn, Kriss (Emily) Hahn, Wendi (Scott) Pennock, Amy (Kevin) Houghtaling, Noah Berger, Jared (Toney) Berger, Molly E. Berger, James (Mia) Pomranky, Robert (Lauretta) Pomranky, Bobbie (Dave) Boyens, Billy Jo (Lee) Schulz; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Rolland; sisters, Laura Mae Jacobus & Pearl Carter; daughter, Barbara J. St. Charles; and great-granddaughter Marian Bergman. Per Elsie's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 11 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, 505 E. Carpenter St., Midland MI with Pastor Kempin officiating. Visitation with the family will be at the church from 10 AM until time of service.
