Obituary of Gwen Ann Smith (Bowen)

Smith, Gwen Ann (Bowen) St. Helen, MI (formerly of Bay City MI) Gwen Ann, age 81, of St. Helen passed peacefully away at home February 7, 2016, with her loving family at her side. Gwen was born on March 26, 1934, to Melvin and Merwina Bowen, in Whittemore, Michigan. She has resided in St. Helen for the past several years. Gwen was employed for 30 years at Bay Medical Center in Bay City. She retired from Whittemore-Prescott Schools after several years of service. Gwen was a fun-loving and most-giving lady, had many friends, and was loved by all. She enjoyed a wonderful live with loving husband, Tom, who preceded her in death in 2011. Surviving to cherish her memories are daughter, Cynthia Reyna of Sylvania, Ohio and son, Scott (Rainelle) Boettner of Whittemore; loving grandchildren, as well as many other family members and friends, and faithful dog, Star. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Fire Hall located at 621 South M-65, Whittemore, MI. A special thanks to her loving neighbors, wonderful home health aides, and Hospice Advantage of West Branch. Memorial donations, in memory of Gwen can be given to the Roscommon County Animal Shelter, 1100 Short Drive, Prudenville, MI, 48651 or the American Cancer Society.
