Obituary of Gordon S. Tuttle

Tuttle, Gordon Smith Sanford, MI Gordon passed away peacefully on February 27, 2016 at his residence ending his fight with cancer. Gordon was born in Richfield Township on August 3, 1938 to the late Arthur and Myrtle (Smith) Tuttle. He attended Midland High School and completed his GED in Grand Rapids, MI. He served in the United States Navy on the USS Pine Island. He had many different jobs throughout his life, but being a carpenter was what he enjoyed the most and working in his wood working shop. Gordon married the former Carol (Chamberlain) Speaker on May 26, 1984. Gordon achieved his captain's license and chartered his fishing boat, fishing out of Ludington and Frankfort. He also enjoyed hunting, bowling, golf and snowmobiling. He is survived by his wife, Carol of Midland; stepdaughters, Ann Marie (Austin Eilenstine) Speaker, Jean Dana (Steve) Speaker-Kloha of Midland; step- grandsons, Kevin (Kaitlin Krzysiak) Tucker of Bay City, Steven (Hailey Hauke) Dice, Chad (Lauren Daly) Dice; step- granddaughter Rachel Tucker of Midland; two step- great- grandsons, Zeek and Ziggy Tucker of Bay City; his brother, Leroy (Fran) Tuttle of Melvindale; sister-in-law, Vicki Vasquez of Las Vegas NV; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Roland (Gene) Tuttle and sister-in-law, Jackie Freeman. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Luncheon will be held at the Jerome Township Hall 737 W. Beamish Road, Sanford, Michigan 48657 from 2 pm until 7 pm on Friday March 4, 2016. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the wishes of the family.
