Obituary of Lorenz "Lorry" J. Glave

Glave, Lorenz J. "Lorry" West Branch, MI (formerly of Bay City) Lorenz J. Glave, age 90, died Monday April 25, 2016. Lorenz was born in Redford, Michigan on September 4, 1925 to the late Carl and Winfred (Presley) Glave. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Nancy (Gougeon) Glave who he married in 1947. His children: Carl (Connie) Glave of Midland, Timothy Glave and Stephanie Glave of Gaylord. His grandchildren Carlene (Todd) Fujimoto of New Orleans LA, Carl (Ann) Glave of Los Angeles CA, Christine (Bob) Juranek of Texas, and Matthew Glave and was preceded by Bryan Glave. Great grandchildren Stephany Juranek, Jake Juranek, Lilly Juranek, Kylee Beaudry, Eli Glave and Rhodes Glave . Lorry joined the Merchant Marine at age 17. After leaving the Merchant Marines he joined the Army in 1943 at age 18 for WWII until his honorable discharge in 1946. He joined the Reserves in 1950 and was sent to Korea from the fall of 1950 until spring of 1952. He worked as a tree trimmer and then in the engineering office for Consumers Power until his retirement in 1987. Throughout his life he pursued his passions of drawing, oil painting and wood carving. He received an award for 25 years of woodcarving demonstrations each August at the Antique village of the Ogemaw County Fair. No service is planned at this time.
