I remember when I introduced Helga to the family through Onkel Edmund and Tante Else. He made her feel so welcome with a big pan of lasagna and his homemade cakes and we couldn't leave without a couple of bags of oranges. I always enjoyed stopping in North Port for a visit and of course, more bags of oranges. Edmund and I were kindred spirits in our joy of the garden and its harvest though he would tackle it with much more zest and vitality than I ever hope to. He will be missed, but fortunately he provided us with many fond memories that will become even more precious as time passes.
What a wonderful man, Edmund was! What a tribute he leaves in his legacy through his children and extended family and friends and his many works of mercy. May memories of his life bring you great comfort during this time of transition.
