Saddens my heart to hear of Cal's passing, So many good memories of laughter, many mornings over a cup of coffee in the kitchen.
His spirit will live on within all who were blessed to know him.
My condolences to Jayne and his entire family!

Very saddened to hear of Cal's passing. He left his mark wherever and whenever he paused long enough to talk to someone. (Which was often) He was a great guy and will be missed by all who knew him. God's speed Cal and leave the door propped open for the rest of us when you get upstairs. Tom Wiltse

I am so sad to learn of Cal's passing. He and Jayne were among the first friends I came to know when I moved to Rose City in 1978. Whoever authored the obituary has captured the essence of Cal. Hardworking, full of stories, and always a mischievous tease with a twinkle in his eye. He was the only person who has ever called me Jo-annie, and he never called me anything else. What a fine fine human being. He will be missed.

So sorry for you Jayne and Family. My daughter is part of this family as she is married to Pete....Cal always had nicknames for everyone....I remember when I was about 14 we went to the farm where my dad and him became good friends earlier on in life and I was teasing him and him teasing me and next thing I knew he had me up and on a cow and I was screaming and he said if don't sit still you will be in the cow POOP.. He always went out of his way to help anyone and always there for his family and complete strangers... loved hearing his stories of everything around town and did you know so and so....Make sure you look up my parents and catch up on all the news and tell them about my grandkids....There is only one of kind man Cal...May you be pain free and doing what you like to do best BSing and loving your family in Heaven....Until we all meet again we all will watch out for the love of your life....RIH.

I told Kristy today..she was very sad. She said, Well Cal, I guess I'll have to send your black cherry ice cream to Heaven. Every time he saw her in Family Fare he teased her about buying him ice cream....he will be missed in our community. Love and prayers to his family.
